Dag in de Branding brings another day full of new music to The Hague in March!
Dag in de Branding: Festival for New Music
Dag in de Branding began in 2006 as an initiative of the Johan Wagenaar Stichting and the partners of the Platform for New Music.
In early 2005, music venues in The Hague sought to raise the city's profile and allure in terms of contemporary music. This resulted in the Platform for New Music, which consists of the Johan Wagenaar Stichting, the Koninklijk Conservatorium, Korzo Theater, Paard van Troje, Residentie Orkest, Theater aan het Spui and Het Nutshuis.
By bringing together the strengths of these institutions, they were able to assemble a festival that takes place over the course of a year on four different weekends.
This breakdown by quarter allows the festival to offer a more diverse programme at many different venues in The Hague. Musically, there are an array of styles represented, including classical music, opera, jazz, pop, dance and electronic, amongst others.
